Thomas “Buddy” Carroll, 77, died Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home. He was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Columbus County, to the late Thomas Dare and Sara Lee Carroll.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Champion; and two brothers, David Carroll and Royce Carroll.
Buddy, as he was known by many people, was a business owner and active member of his church and community. He faithfully served on the cemetery, building and grounds committees and as the assistant Sunday school teacher for the teen Sunday school class.
His visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, May 4, at Livingston Baptist Church. His funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, May 4 at the church with Rev. Matthew Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Peacock Funeral Home of Whiteville is serving the family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Meehan III, David (Buster) Parker, Wayne Wilkins, Devone Edge, Joshua Turner and Nicholas Turner.
He is survived by his fiancée, Eleanor Turner of Delco; his daughter, Sheri Lynn Carroll and her husband, Richard Meehan, of Wilmington; his brother, Hubert Dare Carroll of Riegelwood; and his grandchildren, Sara Meehan, Kate Meehan and Richard Meehan III.
