Viola Mae Creech Cartrette

Viola Mae Creech Cartrette, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at her home. She was born Sept. 23, 1940 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Lee Byron Creech and Julia Rebecca Creech. She was the widow of James Clarence Cartrette Sr.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen Creech, Woodell Creech, MacArthur Creech, Fred Creech; and one sister, Maggie Creech.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at Peacock Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Whiteville Church of God with Revs. Chris Yarusinsky and Troy Little officiating.
She is survived by her children, J.C. Cartrette Jr. and wife, Linda, of Hallsboro, Genevieve Inman and husband, Thomas, Vickie Cartrette Harwood, Amy Cartrette and Jeff, all of Whiteville; brother, Bobby Creech and wife, Alice; two sisters, Virginia Cartrette and husband, Jerry, Rose Hinson and husband, Devon; grandchildren, James  Cartrette, Aaron Cartrette, Elisha Bass and husband, Bert, Miranda Edwards and husband, Bill, Justin Stancil, Jason Jordan and Chrissy, Julia Jordan and Nathan, Brianna Smith, Evan Wright; great grandchildren, Samantha Bass, Kirkland Bass, Ethan Bass, Parker Bass, Paxton Bass, Laney Mae Bass, Veyda Edwards, Hailey Jordan, Rylan Jordan, Bryson Johnston, Grant Greene, Victoria Greene, Lexie Greene.
