William Christopher Marlowe, 61, of the Old Dock community died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville.
He was born July 1, 1955. He was the son of the late Philip Marlowe and Doris Babson Marlowe.
He served as a deputy with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department for more than six years and previously worked with Marlowe Oil Company. He was president of Nakina Dixie Youth for seven years and was a member of Old Dock Hunting Club.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at McKenzie Mortuary. Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Old Dock Methodist Church with Revs. Kenneth Sides and Chris Stanley officiating. Burial following in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher Brandon Marlowe (Dana), Aaron Hamilton Marlowe and Philip Hunter Marlowe, all of Whiteville; one brother, Tim Marlowe of Whiteville; one sister, Connie M. Adams (Dr. James B.) of Southport; three grandchildren, Christopher Chase Marlowe, Joseph Cole Marlowe and Axel Graydon Marlowe.
