Opinion: Economic development interest is high for Columbus

Work continues on the 150,000 square foot International Commerce Center at the International Logistics Park on the Columbus-Brunswick line. Three businesses are already committed to the building and will create 200 jobs. Both counties partner with a private developer to attract new business and industry and share tax revenues. New business and industry activity continues to be strong in Columbus County with a number of companies locating or looking at the county, board members of the Columbus Jobs Foundation learned Sept. 23 at the board’s quarterly meeting.
