Saturday’s well-attended garden tour presented by the Whiteville Garden Club featured nine gardens. Visitors experienced formal and informal styles in shady and sunny settings, ranging from the north end of Whiteville to Hallsboro and Marl Point. Some of the homeplaces represented historical importance for Whiteville. One stop allowed visitors to see honeybees at work pollinating the garden and carrying nectar back to their hives. During the six hours of self-guided touring, artists and musicians painted and performed in a variety of musical genres. Staff photos by Justin Smith and Diana Matthews.
