Proposed county budget bumps pay, keeps tax rate unchanged

Columbus County property owners would pay the same tax rate, and county employees would get another 7% raise if commissioners pass the proposed budget that County Manager Eddie Madden presented Thursday.

Madden said the $99.7 million budget for fiscal year 2022-23 advances the board’s priorities of increasing pay for all employees
