Road improvements get endorsement from state

It will be several years before even the first stages of construction begin, but the future is looking brighter for two major Columbus County road projects.

Two major road projects in Columbus received a priority nod this week from the Department of Transportation.

Allen Serkin of the Cape Fear council Governments announced this morning that the widening of N.C. 87 in Reigelwood received partial funding commitments, and the U.S. 74 interchange at Boardman was fully funded
