Russ, Prevatte, Burroughs honored for service as county commissioners

Columbus County Commissioners’ Vice Chair Jerome McMillian presents board chair Edwin Russ with a proclamation for his service to the board at his last full meeting on Monday.

Monday marked the end of an era for the Columbus County Board of Commissioners as members Edwin Russ, James Prevatte and Trent Burroughs attended their final meeting following a combined 36 years of service. 

Russ was defeated in the Republican primary by Lavern Coleman, who went on to win the November
