The executive committee of the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Friday morning with a lone agenda item of going into closed session for “matters related to economic development.” State law allows public bodies to hold closed sessions for a specific set of reasons, including economic development.
The college announced the meeting Tuesday afternoon.
The executive committee consists of Chair Jack Hooks, Vice Chair Joe Hooks, and members Maudie Davis, Randy Britt, Gary Lanier and Henry Edmund. Lanier is Columbus County’s economic development director.
The meeting will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Hooks Boardroom in A-Building.
