Columbus Regional Healthcare System says it will continue to provide pathology services following the sudden death of its pathologist, Dr. Mett “Chip” Ausley.

The employees and medical staff were “very saddened and shocked over the untimely death,” CRHS said in a statement. “He was a valued member of our medical staff, excellent clinician and will be very, very missed.”

Ausley worked at CRHS for 22 years.

A CRHS spokesperson said the hospital has arranged for interim coverage of pathology services.
