Severe weather damage

Thunderstorm wind damage and hail led to small-scale damage across south-central Columbus County Tuesday afternoon. This picture comes from Bobbies Way, just off N.C. 130 near the fork with 7 Creeks Highway. Rhonda Fowler reported seeing other damage in the area. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, at 4:37 and 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, there were reports of hail and thunderstorm wind damage at or near Crusoe Island Road, including four pine trees snapped, partial roof losses to two small metal sheds and hail up to one inch.
