Anticipation of Florence schedule changes, Tuesday 2 pm update

With Hurricane Florence possibly making landfall somewhere along the North Carolina, schools are scurrying to adjust sports schedules.

East Columbus at Whiteville varsity football rescheduled for TUESDAY will NOT BE PLAYED. A make up date for this game and all other Three Rivers action will be determined at a later date. The NCHSAA released a statement Tuesday saying extending the regular season at this point would be “premature.”

East Columbus at West Columbus Girls Tennis and Volleyball matches were moved up from Thursday to  Monday. East Columbus swept the volleyball. West Columbus earned a 5-4 tennis win. More info on these matches is in a separate story.

West Columbus (Fairmont) and South Columbus (East Bladen) football, both with home games this Friday, have not announced any change at this time.

Girls Tennis and Volleyball matches scheduled for Tuesday HAVE ALL BEEN POSTPONED.

According to and ECHS AD Brad Smith, the East Columbus at East Bladen Boys Soccer match will be played this (Tuesday) evening.

The Columbus County Middle School Football Jamboree scheduled for Tuesday evening at West Columbus has been cancelled.

Middle School Girls Soccer matches scheduled for Monday were played. More info on these matches is in a separate story.
