Local 12U team wins wood bat championship

The Palmetto State Copperheads 12U (Tabor City) won USSSA Wood Bat Nationals tournament held in Myrtle Beach July 22-23.

Palmetto State defeated the Charleston Mud Dogs 9-3 on Sunday in the championship semifinals. Palmetto State defeated the Cape Fear Mayhem 5-4 on Sunday in the finals to win the USSSA Wood Bat Nationals Myrtle Beach Championship. The Palmetto State roster consists of players from Tabor City, Cerro Gordo, Fair Bluff, Lake Waccamaw, Hallsboro, Nakina, and Tabor City.
