The final day of regularly scheduled Columbus County Middle School Boys Soccer matches provides a clear picture of how the league standings may now shake out. One make up match remains between Central and Acme-Delco.

In regularly scheduled action Central defeated Evergreen 9-0. Hallsboro downed Nakina 3-1. Cerro Gordo topped Acme-Delco 2-1 and Williams defeated Chadbourn.

The highly anticipated shootout at West Columbus to determine the winner of a November 7 draw between Acme-Delco and Williams went to the Trojans. The Trojans were successful on the second kick of the “sudden death” shootout and Williams was unable to match it. The teams had tied at two successful PKs each in the first shootout.

Monday’s match will determine if one or three teams can claim the league title. A Central win gives the Hornets sole possession of the championship. An Acme-Delco win would cause a three-way tie between Central, Hallsboro and Williams, all with 6-2 records.
