Middle School Volleyball continues

Here are the results from matches played Monday.

Hallsboro was host to Central, Elizabethtown and Nakina. Central defeated Hallsboro by scores of 25-7, 25-11. In a battle of teams yet to lose, Central downed Nakina 25-13, 25-21. Nakina bounced back with a 25-20, 25-10 win over Elizabethtown. Hallsboro capped off the evening with a 2-1 win over Elizabethtown.

Bladenboro, Clarkton and Tar Heel traveled to Williams. Williams defeated Bladenboro in three sets 21-25, 25-17, 15-11. Bladenboro swept Tar Heel in a non-conference match. Clarkton downed Tar heel in two sets. Williams earned a key victory over Clarkton by scores of 25-22, 25-19.

A-league contests were held at Tabor City. Tabor City swept acme-Delco 25-10, 25-22 and Evergreen 25-22, 25-19. Acme-Delco split sets with Cerro Gordo before winning the final set 15-7. Evergreen defeated Cerro Gordo 25-14, 25-12.

Currently Central has one win over Elizabethtown in their head-to-head battle for the AAA crown. Central is also the only team in the conference undefeated overall.

Williams is 4-0 in AA-league play, with Nakina right behind at 3-0. Hallsboro and Clarkton are each 2-2.

Tabor City is 4-1, followed by Evergreen at 3-1 in the A-league. Scores of two A-league games have not been reported that would affect the standings.

Waccamaw Conference Middle School Volleyball play continues Thursday. Middle School Boys Soccer play its first matches on Thursday also.
