Wolfpack Optimist Dixie Youth Baseball sign ups

Registration for players wishing to participate in the 2018 Wolfpack Optimist Dixie Youth Baseball Program will be held at the Whiteville Parks and Recreation Center according to the following dates and times:

Friday, February 9                      from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 10                 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Friday, February 16                      from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 17                 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Wolfpack Optimist Dixie Youth Baseball league will include the following leagues for 2018: (League age is age of the child as of April 30, 2018)

AA                 Coach Pitch                                Ages 6 to 8

AAA              Regular Dixie Youth                    Ages 9 and 10

Majors          Regular Dixie Youth                    Ages 11 and 12

Registration in the Wolfpack Optimist Dixie Youth Baseball league is open to any child who lives in Whiteville City School District or attends a school located within the Whiteville school boundary (including private schools and charter schools) and who will be at least 6 years old before May 1st and who will not turn 13 before May 1st of this year.

League age 6 year olds (birthdays May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012) can opt to play Dixie Youth or remain in the Whiteville Recreation Tee ball program.

A $35 fee must be paid at the time of registration. Registration forms must be signed by both the player and parent. Orders for Dixie Youth Baseball T-shirts will be taken at registration.

Any participant who previously has NOT PLAYED in the 6 to 12 age group league also must bring a birth certificate copy to registration to be kept by the league.   Players wishing to participate must register even if they played on a team last season.

A baseball skills showcase will be held at both Harritan and Memorial fields on Saturday, March 3 at 8 a.m.. This will allow coaches to evaluate players for selection. Anyone interested in coaching in any of the age groups should contact Matt McLean at or apply at registration
