A Loris man is in jail under no bond after allegedly shooting into a home near Tabor City.

Levon Junior Campbell, 23, of U.S. 701, Loris, was charged with a single count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling in the Nov. 14 incident. He was held without bond due to a parole violation.

The incident occurred at 11289 Lebanon Church Road. Roger Dale Ward called 911 after a bullet struck his home near a bedroom window and penetrated an interior wall, according to a report with the sheriff’s office. Ward and deputies initially described the shooting as accidental. No one was injured.

Upon further investigation, a female witness told officers she had also seen and heard someone shooting a firearm in the area around the time Ward’s home was hit. Deputies determined the direction of the shot by the angle of the bullet’s entry into the home, and arrested Campbell Dec. 3.

The report did not state what type of firearm was used in the shooting.
