Air Quality Hearing

Residents affected by the Riegelwood log fumigation company, Malec Brothers Transport, gathered to express their opinions and concerns about the company and its plan to use a new chemical.The company plans to triple its production with the use of the insecticide compound methyl bromide. Bryce Sage, a supervisor at Allen Transport, spoke on behalf of the timber-processing company. “I’ve been exposed every day to the exact same chemical that people are worried about,” he said. “I’ve received no harm.”For updates and more inforamtion, check out Diana Matthews' article online at or read it in Tuesday's paper.
