More Waccamaw River basin preserved

With the new acquisition along the Waccamaw River, even more of the waterway is being protected for boating, hunting, hiking and fishing.

An additional two miles of the Waccamaw River will be protected by the N.C. Coastal Land Trust.

The trust recently announced acquiring around 670 aces of bottomland hardwoods, cypress and gum in the swamp surrounding the river. The purchase will provide more than two miles of a wooded buffer along
