Whiteville to ‘play catchup’ with its savings account

The City of Whiteville might take a substantial amount of its almost $1.7 million in federal American Rescue Plan money to replenish its “rainy day fund.” In December, the state flagged the city’s lower than average rainy day fund as a concern.
