William Norwood Fipps, 86, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at McLeod Loris Hospital. Born Dec. 4, 1932 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late William Alton Fipps and Rose Lee Harper Fipps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ina Gore.
Mr. Fipps was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the Spivey Cemetery. Inman Ward Funeral Home is serving the family.
He is survived by his wife, Freda Gore Fipps of the home; two daughters, Teri Fipps Jordan of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Laura Clemmons and husband, Alan, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one son, Randy Fipps and wife, Beth, of Watertown, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Nicole, Kyle, Jason, Alayne, Kelly, Maggie; and two great-grandchildren: Maddison and Parker.
