Woman dies after J.K. Powell wreck

An elderly woman died after being airlifted from the scene of a two-car wreck Friday on J.K. Powell Boulevard in Whiteville.

The road was closed in both directions midday Friday so AirLink could land and transport Gracie Duncan Smith, 91, of Red Hill Road, to the hospital.
